About

Within my work in jewellery context I explore the deep-seated romanticism and sentimental value often associated with jewelry, while uncovering the stark realities behind these treasured materials. My work challenges the polished allure of precious metals, gemstones, and pearls by revealing their environmental and human costs. Through pieces like a silver mine landscape and paper pearl necklace crafted from the novel by Steinbeck “The Pearl”, I highlight the dissonance between the romanticized stories we cherish and the true origins of these resources.
